The Kelvinhaugh Club

Hello and welcome to our Karemore Kelvinhaugh Page!

We are based in Kelvinhaugh Primary School and have up to 24 children a day. We have three members of staff:

  Health and Safety Officer

When your child joins our club, they will be allocated a Key Worker who is responsible for your child and for liasing with you regarding your child’s development and needs.

Dining Hall

We are based in the Dining Hall of Kelvinhaugh Primary School and have a wide range of activities for the children to participate in, including:

  • lego
  • play dough
  • collage
  • modelling
  • jigsaws
  • playstation
  • board games
  • etc

Gym

We also have use of the gymnasium in the school.  In the gym, the children can participate in physical play, team games, ring games etc.

Playground

We also have use of the playground – if weather permits!  This enables us to arrange ball games, races, skipping, hula hoops etc.

Daily Routine

We do have a relaxed routine which we try and stick to!  This can be found in our Parents Handbook.  However, we are aware that the children have been in school today and do not their time at the club to be too “regimented” so, we are very relaxed.


Prize Giving

Every week we have a prize-giving ceremony.  We have 4 awards:

  • Best Behaviour
  • Best Effort
  • Most Helpful
  • Most Progress

There will be a winner for both the younger and older children who will be presented with a certificate and the overall highest certificate earner over the term, will be awarded with a prize!

Children’s Committee


Every month, we have our Children’s Committee.  The children are asked to discuss, within their key worker groups, any comments and ideas that they have regarding the club and to suggest any equipment that they wish to be introduced.

Free Day


One day per week, we have a “Free Day” whereby children are able to bring in their own toys.  However, we do state to the children that if they do decide that they would like to bring in their own toys, they must be clearly labelled and the children have full responsibility for looking after their property.

Snack


While your child is at the club, we will provide them with a light snack, these always includes:

  • Fruit
  • Vegetables
  • Water
  • Juice

and will also include one of the following:

  • Biscuits
  • Beans on toast
  • Spaghetti on toast
  • Ham sandwiches
  • Chicken sandwiches
  • Etc
