After snack time, the children are free to move to which ever room they wish. At 5 o'clock, the children all come together in the lively room to participate in group acitivities.

  • Best Effort
  • Most Helpful
  • Most Progress

There will be a prize winner for both the younger and older group who will be presented with a certificate.

CHILDREN'S COMMITTEE

On a Tuesday, we have our Children's Committee. The children are asked to discuss within their groups any comments and ideas that they have regarding the club and to suggest any equipment that they wish to be introduced.

There are gardens to the rear of the building which are very secure with fences and locked gates. We will encourage outdoor play as much as possible, depending, of course, on the weather (!).

The Club is open from 0800 - 0900 and 1500 - 1800 hours, Monday - Friday (during school terms) and our staff will be there to escort your child from Baljaffray, St Andrews and Craighdu Primary Schools to the Afterschool Club .

For security and safety reasons, the main entrance to the Afterschool Club is locked. To enter, simply press the doorbell and a member of staff will open the door for you. Please note that any parent, whose child is picked up later then the closing time of the club (1800 hours), will be subject to a £4.00 surcharge. This is to cover overtime for the staff members required to remain with your child.

Due to the period of time that your child will be with us, we will provide them with a light snack of a piece of fruit and/or biscuit with a cup of juice. It is imperative that we know any food allergies or special dietary requirements.

We would ask that you supply your child with an old shirt (perhaps one of dads!) to protect their clothing when partaking in messy activities. Please clearly label the shirt with your child's name.

We do ask that you discourage your child from bringing their own toys from home as we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.

When it is your child's birthday please feel welcome to bring in a cake and/or goodies for a birthday party so your child can celebrate the event with their friends. We will also cover most festivities i.e. Easter, Lent, Christmas etc and overseas events such as Divali, Chinese New Year. We encourage the children to participate in traditional activities such as Chinese Lantern displays, making Divali cards etc.

Although it is unlikely your child will be attending the Club if they are absent from school due to sickness, we do require that you keep your child at home if they suffer from any of the following:

  • vomiting
  • diarrhoea
  • constant cough
  • temperature over 37°C (fever)
  • cold in the early stages
  • heavy nasal discharge
  • sore throat

It is vitally important that you contact us at the earliest opportunity if your child will be absent from the Club (Kirsty Morison: 07887 68 3534) as it is not fair to the other children if their activities, outings etc are affected as a result.

If your child requires antibiotics, please complete a medication form available from a member of staff, or download a form by clicking here. This form must be signed by the parent, a member of staff and the manager.

If you have any special or unusual skills/profession you would like to share with us, such as toy making, sewing etc, please do inform our staff. We would really appreciate and be grateful of your help. We may also require your help on any outings we may participate in. We will however, send out letters when this instance arises.

We require payment by direct debit, one month in advance. Please download our standing order form by clicking here and return it completed to your bank. If you have any queries over payment, please do not hesitate to contact me. (Kirsty Morison 07887 68 3534).

If you feel that you would like to speak privately with myself, or a member of staff, please complete a "request for conference" form. These are available for download by clicking here and are also available in a folder in our entrance hall. If you have a comment or advice you would like to pass on to us. Please feel free to complete a "communications" form. These will be available in a folder in our entrance hall. We are required to complete an accident form for any minor incident occurring while your child is at our club. This form must be signed by the parent, a member of staff and the manager. If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Click here for contact details.

Should you have any concerns, comments or complaints on how the club is being run, the following procedure should be followed:

  1. Parent to contact Kirsty Morison to discuss their concerns (see request for conference book)
  2. Kirsty Morison to have a discussion with the parent to resolve or relieve any concerns the parents may have
  3. If after this discussion, the parent is still unhappy, they can contact our local Registration Unit:
